CubeSatPlus 2026 brings together the people driving Australia's small satellite sector forward, engineers, researchers, mission operators, start-ups, students, and organisations turning ideas into working missions.
Held from 31 August to 2 September at the UNSW Kensington Campus, the event begins with a new hands-on RASCube CubeSat Workshop on Monday, followed by the two-day CubeSatPlus Conference on 1 and 2 September.
Built for "doers", CubeSatPlus focuses on practical mission delivery, technical problem-solving, lessons learned, and direct conversations with the teams behind current and emerging CubeSat and small satellite missions.
Over two highly interactive conference days, delegates will hear from mission teams, industry leaders and researchers working across launch, operations, payloads, applications and next-generation capability. With discounted student registrations and the new hands-on workshop, this year's event places an even greater emphasis on supporting students and early-career professionals entering Australia's growing space sector, while continuing important discussions around diversity, sustainability and the future direction of Australia's space capability.
Unlike larger, marketing-driven events, CubeSatPlus is designed to create real discussion, honest insights and meaningful connections across the community. Whether you're launching your first CubeSat or your next mission, CubeSatPlus is where Australia's small satellite community comes together.
HEO is supporting the next generation of Australia’s space sector by sponsoring up to 30 university students to attend CubeSatPlus 2026 at UNSW.
CubeSatPlus is a hands-on event that brings together scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, policymakers and students to explore the continuing development of the Australasian CubeSat and small satellite sector.
Applicants must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate, postgraduate or research student at an Australian university.

CubeSatPlus is one of the few space events focused on the practical realities of building and operating missions. You’ll hear directly from the people developing spacecraft, solving technical challenges, managing launches, analysing failures, and delivering outcomes in a fast-moving sector. The program is designed around open discussion and real experience, giving delegates the opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas, and learn from teams working at the coalface of small satellite missions.
Whether you’re an established mission operator, researcher, engineer, start-up, student, or organisation looking to enter the sector, CubeSatPlus offers valuable access to the people shaping Australia’s small satellite capability. The event creates space for genuine technical conversations, collaboration, and connections that continue well beyond the two-day program.

The program is currently being developed and will feature mission teams, engineers, researchers, start-ups, and industry leaders working across the small satellite and CubeSat sector. Sessions will focus on practical mission delivery, lessons learned, emerging capability, and the real technical challenges shaping the industry.
